OUR MISSION
Founded in 2022, Lax for Life is committed to creating life-changing opportunities through active participation and awareness in organ donation. Through our lacrosse events, we aim to cultivate a culture of organ donation, where each game played symbolizes hope and renewal. Every dollar raised advances the vital cause of organ donation, offering hope, health, and life to those in need.
OUR VISION
We want to inspire a world where the power of sports and community unite to save lives through organ donation, while fostering a culture of hope, renewal, and giving. Through every lacrosse game played and every story shared, we aim to create a lasting impact that raises awareness and advancing opportunities for those in need of life-saving organ transplants.
OBJECTIVES
Lacrosse Events
Through our organized lacrosse events, we want to spread active participation and awareness in the realm of organ donation.
Increasing Organ Donation Registration
Create awareness of the importance of organ donation and cultivate a culture of giving, hope and love. Create easy and accessible ways to register as an organ donor through lacrosse events and other programs through Lax-for-Life.
Market Development
- Promote organ donation awareness
- Create marketing campaigns to encourage all individuals the importance and impact of organ donation. Some of these campaigns will be tied to key organ donation dates and months.
- Create partnerships to help expand our message of giving, hope and love both with the lacrosse community and outside organizations.

RYAN’S JOURNEY

RYAN’S STORY
In November 2020, Ryan Scoble, a junior defenseman at Mercyhurst University was called home early for the holidays. His father had unexpectedly been diagnosed with late stage heart failure and was fighting for his life in critical care. As Ryan watched his father’s battle to recover and thrive, he couldn’t have imagined what was ahead. A short four months later Ryan himself was pulled from a lacrosse game struggling to catch his breath. He had been battling shortness of breath and fatigue for weeks suspecting allergies. He was mistaken. Ryan himself was in late stage heart failure. He soon learned his only chance of survival was a heart transplant.
Ryan’s eventful journey from the brink of death back to the lacrosse field is ultimately one of hope and striving to fulfill his second chance. Now a recent graduate beginning his professional life, Ryan is focused on raising awareness of organ donation so that others in need can fulfill their second chances.
